⚠ Important

NOT a Texturizer.
This is a JAPANESE CUTTING SHEAR.

Cuts clean like a traditional cutting shear — without leaving visible cut lines.
Designed to cut hair cleanly while naturally softening lines in the same motion.

Why barbers choose it
  • No harsh cut lines when cutting with scissors
  • Natural diffusion built into the cut
  • Less need for a second finishing step
Best for
  • Men’s haircuts & structured styles
  • Fades & scissor-over-comb control
  • Thick / coarse hair & fast workflow

What TO6518 Really Is

This is NOT a texturizing or thinning shear.
TO6518 is a Japanese-style HYBRID CUTTING SHEAR, used in Japan as a primary cutting tool — especially for men’s haircuts, fades, and textured styles.

In Japan, many barbers use this type of shear because it helps them cut with scissors without creating visible cut lines. Instead of cutting first and “fixing lines” later, the tooth layout softens the cut as the hair is being cut.

A Shear That Once Took Off Fast in Japan

When this shear first started selling, it gained explosive popularity among professional barbers in Japan. Many barbers were looking for a way to keep clean structure while avoiding harsh scissor lines — with fewer tool changes. TO6518 answered that need and quickly became a daily-use cutting shear in Japanese barber shops.

While this cutting approach has been common in Japan for years, it’s still largely unknown in the U.S. barber market — which is exactly why it can feel so different (in a good way).

What Barbers Notice Immediately

  • Cleaner cuts with no harsh scissor lines
  • Natural texture built directly into the cut
  • Less need for a second texturizing step
  • Faster men’s haircuts with predictable control
  • Natural movement without over-thinning

How Barbers Actually Use TO6518

  • Fast debulking on dense sections with predictable removal
  • Perimeter softening and line diffusion after blunt work (reduce “hard edges” without losing shape)
  • Seamless transitions in mid-lengths
  • Scissor-over-comb work with long reach and steady control
Tip: Cutting effect varies by section size, angle (0–45°), and bite depth. Use shallow bites & lower angles on fine hair; go deeper on coarse hair.

3D Ergonomics — More Leverage, Less Strain

The 3D handle keeps the wrist more neutral and improves torque in heavy sections. A large-size thumb ring and slightly larger finger openings create a secure, roomy grip — less squeeze, more control in long sessions.
