WE KNOW SHEARS.
Scissor Warrior didn't start as an online shear store.
Our experience with professional hair shears began in Korea in 1996.
For three decades, we've worked hands-on with the tools hairstylists and barbers
depend on every day — selling, servicing, sharpening, and learning what makes a
shear truly perform.
Today, that experience guides everything we do at Scissor Warrior.
OUR STORY
1996 — KOREA
Our journey began in Korea in 1996, working with professional hair shears and serving hairstylists and barbers.
What started as a business became a lifelong focus on understanding professional shears — how they're made, how they cut, how they wear, and what makes one shear feel completely different from another.
2006 — CALIFORNIA, USA
In 2006, we brought that experience to the United States and began serving American hairstylists and barbers in California.
It was the beginning of a new chapter — learning firsthand what working professionals in the U.S. look for in their everyday cutting tools.
2008 — FLORIDA, USA
In 2008, we moved our base to Florida and continued working directly with hairstylists and barbers through professional shear sales, service, and sharpening.
Florida remains home to Scissor Warrior today.
SHARPENING CHANGED HOW WE LOOK AT SHEARS
Decades of sharpening have shaped the way we choose shears.
Over the years, we've sharpened and serviced tens of thousands of
professional shears from different makers, countries, price ranges, steels,
blade designs, and handle styles.
And we've seen them not only when they were new, but after months and
years of real use behind the chair.
That experience taught us something marketing alone can't.
WE SEE WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE SALE.
We see how an edge wears.
We see how blades hold up over time.
We see how a shear responds to sharpening.
And we see how design, materials, and construction affect performance
after years of professional use.
That's why we don't choose shears simply because they look impressive,
carry a famous name, or come with a compelling marketing story.
We choose shears based on what we've learned from working with them.
WHY WE CHOOSE JAPAN
After decades of working with professional shears, we developed a deep
respect for Japanese shear manufacturing.
But there's an important distinction every professional should understand:
JAPANESE STEEL ≠ MADE IN JAPAN.
“Japanese Steel” describes the material. It does not necessarily tell you
where the shear was actually made.
For our Japanese shear collections, we focus on shears that are genuinely
made in Japan.
We believe professional hairstylists and barbers deserve to know what
they're buying and where it was made.
That's why we believe in transparency over marketing language.
Look at the shear. Look for the origin. Know what you're buying.
MICHIKO SELECT
MICHIKO SELECT represents what we've learned from decades of working with professional shears.
Our Made-in-Japan collections are selected for working hairstylists and barbers who care about cutting performance, balance, comfort, durability, and authentic Japanese manufacturing.
We don't believe the most expensive shear is automatically the best shear.
And we don't believe every professional needs the same one.
The right shear depends on how you cut, what techniques you use, andwhat feels right in your hand.
Our job is to help you find it.
FROM OUR WORKBENCH TO YOURS
Buying professional shears online shouldn't mean buying without knowledge or support.
Scissor Warrior was built to bring the expertise traditionally found
face-to-face directly to working hairstylists and barbers.
Learn about the shear. Understand what you're buying.
Choose the right tool for the way you work.
Then judge it where it really matters —BEHIND THE CHAIR.
WE KNOW SHEARS.
WE CHOOSE JAPAN.
Authentic Made-in-Japan professional shears, backed by decades of hands-on experience.
