Professional Japanese Texturizing Shears – MO T1010 – Made in Japan
✨ Quick View Summary
The most widely used texturizer blade type: 10 teeth with 10 wave-tip grooves for powerful, even removal.
Delivers a confident 55–60% cutting ratio—ideal for layout control, bulk management, and fast diffusion when used by experienced hands.
Eyeglass (symmetric) handle keeps balance neutral and flips easy in tight zones.
📌 Before You Choose — Thinners & Texturizers
• Longevity: Thinners/Texturizers often serve for 10–15+ years. Invest in a high-quality tool.
• MO Series (Eyeglass handle): Thinners = T40 / T302 / T253 · Texturizers = T165 / T147 / T138 / T1010 / T14.
• Teeth & grooves: Counts and tooth-tip groove patterns vary by model. Except T40 and T14, most MO models feature oblique, wave-like grooves enabling slide thinning / slide texturizing (similar to slide cutting with a straight shear)—a little practice helps.
• Note: T40-style grooves cannot perform slide thinning. Keep this in mind when selecting.
✂️ Michiko Select MO T1010 — 6.0″ 10T/10-Groove Texturizer (55–60%)
MO T1010 delivers maximum texture with control. The 10T/10-groove architecture gives a bold, even bite that seasoned stylists use to set movement, direction, and layout quickly—while maintaining silhouette integrity.
🌀 Slide Texturizing Ready — 10 Wave Grooves
The oblique, wave-like grooves support slide texturizing. Use a light glide and stable angle—similar to slide cutting with a straight shear. Start on mid-lengths to tune section size, angle, and bite depth. With a high removal rate, shallow bites are recommended on fine hair.
🎯 Cutting Applications — Layout · Debulk · High-Texture Finish
• Layout & direction control: set movement and flow efficiently.
• Fast interior debulking: reduce visual weight while preserving shape.
• High-texture finishing (dry): create airy diffusion and disconnection where needed.
Tip: Removal varies by section size, angle (0–45°), and bite depth. Use conservative passes on finer textures.
🖐️ Symmetric (Eyeglass) Handle — Neutral & Agile
The eyeglass handle offers neutral balance and effortless overhand/underhand flips—ideal around the fringe and ears.
A medium-size thumb ring stabilizes grip, and the detachable finger rest lets you tailor support during long sessions.
