Before You Choose — Thinners & Texturizers
• Longevity: Thinners/texturizers are often used for 10–15+ years. Choose a high-quality tool.
• MO Series (Eyeglass handle): Thinners = T40 / T302 / T253 · Texturizers = T165 / T147 / T138 / T1010 / T14.
• Teeth & grooves: Tooth count and tooth-tip groove pattern vary by model.
Except for T40 and T14, most MO models feature oblique, wave-like grooves that enable
slide thinning/slide texturizing (similar to slide cutting with a straight shear).
• Note: Models with T40-style grooves cannot perform slide thinning.
Michiko Select MO T138 — 6.0″ 13T Double-Sided Texturizer (40–45%)
MO T138 is a double-sided texturizer with 13 teeth, designed for confident, visible texture while keeping a “clean finish” mindset. The feel is smooth on entry and controlled on exit, helping reduce tracking/marks when you work with light pressure and consistent sectioning.
Slide Texturizing Ready — 8 Wave Grooves (One Blade)
One blade includes 8 wave-tip grooves that help the shear glide predictably for slide-texturizing style passes. Use a gentle, controlled motion (think slide cutting with a straight shear) and start on mid-lengths to calibrate section size, angle, and bite depth before refining ends and face-framing zones.
Cutting Applications — Texture · Diffusion · Finishing
• “Safe texture” with impact: noticeable movement and softness without instantly over-removing.
• Soft diffusion through mid-lengths and ends—clean blending and reduced bulk lines.
• Finishing control: refine face-framing, fringe, and heavy corners (dry or damp).
Tip: Removal varies by section size, angle (0–45°), and bite depth. Use shallower bites on fine hair; go deeper on coarse hair.
Symmetric Eyeglass Handle — Neutral & Agile
The eyeglass handle offers neutral balance and easy overhand/underhand flips—especially helpful around the fringe, ears, and tight detailing zones.
A medium-sized thumb ring stabilizes grip, and the detachable finger rest lets you tailor support during long sessions.
