📌 Before You Choose — Thinners & Texturizers
• Longevity: Thinners/texturizers are often used for 10–15+ years. Choose a high-quality tool.
• MO Series (Eyeglass handle): Thinners = T40 / T302 / T253 · Texturizers = T165 / T147 / T138 / T1010 / T14.
• Teeth & grooves: Tooth count and tooth-tip groove pattern vary by model. Except T40 and T14, most MO models feature oblique, wave-like grooves that enable slide thinning / slide texturizing (same motion as slide cutting with a straight shear)—a little practice helps.
• Note: Models with T40-style grooves cannot perform slide thinning. Please keep this in mind when selecting.
✂️ Michiko Select MO T165 — 6.0″ 16T/5-Groove Texturizer (35–40%)
MO T165 stands for 16 teeth with five wave-shaped grooves at each tooth tip. It’s a popular “safe texture” choice when you want noticeable movement and softness—without the burden of excessive removal.
💡 Slide Texturizing Ready — 5 Wave Grooves
Thanks to its five oblique, wave-like grooves, MO T165 supports slide texturizing. Use light pressure and a controlled glide, similar to slide cutting with a straight shear. Start on mid-lengths to dial in section size, angle, and bite depth.
🎯 Cutting Applications — Texture · Diffusion · Control
• Airy texture and soft diffusion through mid-lengths and ends.
• Perimeter softening after blunt work; maintain shape while removing visual weight.
• Dry finishing for face-framing and fringe; refine heavy corners without harsh steps.
Tip: Removal varies by section size, angle (0–45°), and bite depth—use shallower bites on fine hair; go deeper on coarse hair.
🖐️ Symmetric (Eyeglass) Handle — Neutral & Agile
The eyeglass handle offers neutral balance and easy overhand/underhand flips—ideal in tight zones near the fringe and ears.
A medium-size thumb ring stabilizes grip, and the detachable finger rest lets you tailor support in long sessions.
