Cutting Shears
How to Choose Your Scissors
1. Choose Your Cutting Technique
Blunt Cut: Clean, straight lines
Slide Cut: Soft, textured finish
All-Rounder: Blunt & Slide Cut
2. Pick the Right Blade Type
Straight : Blunt Cut
Curved : Slide Cut
Slightly Curved : All-Rounder
3. Select a Comfortable Handle
Symmetric: Classic, even rings
Offset: Reduces fatigue, improves efficiency
Crane: Lowers arm/elbow strain, ideal for seated cutting
4. Decide on Length
Scissors range from 5.0"- 5.5" to 6.5"- 7.5".
Most stylists prefer 6", while longer shears are often used for men’s cuts or specific salon needs.
5. Check the Origin
For premium shears, always look for the mark “Made in Japan.”
This mark is your guarantee of authentic Japanese craftsmanship, trusted steel quality, and lasting performance.
If a product only says “Japanese Steel” without an origin mark, be cautious—it may not offer the same standard.
